Our lawyers express their personal commitment to the development of the practice of family law by serving as volunteer leaders who advance the missions and contributions of the Chicago Volunteer Legal Services, Cook County Circuit Court Domestic Relations Management Advisory Committee, as well as the Executive Committee of the Legal Aid Society and the Illinois Supreme Court's Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission, among others.
Davis Friedman hires law clerks to give exceptional students the opportunity to learn how to practice law as they work in the firm's collegial environment. Partners, associates, and paralegals make a commitment to learn all of the practical steps and intricacies of managing a family law case, including those that may not be covered in law school.
We also volunteer as mentors for students interested in law practice and legal research, and participate in career days in several Chicago-area schools, colleges, and other educational programs. Our attorneys serve on boards of not-for-profit organizations committed to overcoming economic and social challenges and participate in networking organizations.
As a firm, Davis Friedman supports WINGS (Women in Need Growing Stronger), a not-for-profit organization that owns and operates an emergency Safe House in the northwest suburbs that serves women and children experiencing domestic violence, as well as numerous transitional homes and apartments to provide a safety net to families in need. WINGS programs and services help women and their children become emotionally and financially independent.
Davis Friedman lawyers also provide helpful legal counsel for women who have experienced domestic violence.
