Karen Altman
Karen Altman
Associate

Karen Altman originally worked at the firm as a law student, clerking for partners and associates for two years. Hired immediately after passing the bar in 2004 (thanks in part to her exceptionally professional demeanor, summed up as "persistent, practical and pragmatic"), Ms. Altman handles a variety of cases, including premarital agreements, pre-decree, post-decree and appeals. She's assisted partners in court on custody and financial trials and edited the continuously updated The Illinois Practice of Family Law, authored by Muller Davis and Jody Meyer Yazici. "At this firm, we have the benefit of collaborating with people who've been experts at this for 40 years, each of whom might have a different style or approach to handling a case," she says. "But everyone adheres to the same philosophy, and they are all very, very good at what they do."
