Mr. McNish joined Davis Friedman as a partner in August, 2007. He received both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Minnesota. He was admitted to the Illinois bar in 1969, the Colorado bar in 1992, and the New York bar in 2000. Mr. McNish has concentrated his practice in the area of family law since 1981, while continuing to handle commercial, estate planning, probate and real estate matters. His experience makes him a well-rounded matrimonial practitioner, knowledgeable in all areas affecting the family.

Recognizing litigation may be the only alternative, he believes a negotiated compromise is in the best interests of all involved.

Mr. McNish served as president of the Illinois Chapter and a member of the Board of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Mr. McNish has also served as chairman of the Matrimonial Law Committee and the Professional Fee Committee of the Chicago Bar Association.
