After receiving his undergraduate degree in Spanish Literature from the University of Michigan (B.A. ’82), Rob took a three year hiatus in Aspen, Colorado, before returning to Chicago to obtain his Law Degree from DePaul University (J.D. ’89). While at DePaul, Rob served as Managing Editor of Notes and Comments on the DePaul Law Review and received the Zweig Award for Legal Writing. Since his graduation, Rob has focused his practice exclusively in the areas of family and matrimonial law. Prior to joining Davis Friedman, Rob was an associate at several firms, had a solo practice and was a partner in the firm of Jakubs, Kritzmire & Wigoda. While he is extremely comfortable in court and enjoys the challenge of trial practice, Rob prefers to resolve matters amicably whenever possible, especially in matters involving children. As a divorced father of three young children, Rob recognizes the complex psychological and emotional forces which come into play in dissolution proceedings. “The people we represent are not just “clients” or “litigants”, but more importantly, they are parents who will have to work together for years to come on issues involving their children”, Rob says. “How they are able to work together during their dissolution proceedings frequently sets the tone for their future relationship with each other”.
