Background, Experience & Approach

Additionally, utilizing his unique background and vast experience of thousands of combined hearings, bench trials and jury trials during his time as a family law attorney and former criminal prosecutor, Marc has earned the highest of accolades regarding his tenacity and prowess in the courtroom. The primary reason Marc left the world of criminal prosecution was to utilize his advocacy skills and dedication in order to help children.  And as a parent of two young kids himself, Marc knows first-hand that parents will do anything to protect and advocate on behalf of their kids – whom often are the most affected individuals in divorce or parentage cases.

To that end, besides making the children’s safety and best interests his top priority in any divorce or parentage matter, Marc is a certified Guardian Ad Litem (GAL) and Child Representative in Cook, DuPage, Lake and Will Counties. Marc has been often appointed by the Court, in his capacity as a GAL and counted on by numerous judges to investigate and make recommendations concerning the best interests of children of a variety of ages and circumstances. Marc embraces the opportunity to advocate for children on behalf of a client, as well as his role as a GAL, knowing that children need a strong, compassionate and decisive voice to represent their best interests in court.

“With individuals going through the divorce or family law process, it’s very often the most difficult, or one of the most difficult things they’re ever going to go through. Even from that initial phone call, before you sit down to talk in a consultation, he or she needs to know that you understand how hard it was to even reach out to a divorce and family law attorney. They need to feel like you are not just going to be their strong legal advocate that will provide honest and up-front advice, but that you truly care about what they’re going through. While I handle several high-level financial matters with extensive marital estates and in post-decree, I think this approach hits closest to home to those clients that have minor children or are dealing with child-related matters,” Marc said.

Client Testimonials

“Marc was fantastic to work with. Let’s be honest, the process is painful, you want someone who will not just fight for you but really takes the time to understand your situations and then crafts a plan for an outcome you feel good about. Marc was great at managing my expectations. Not once did he sugar coat anything. As filings came across elevating my nerves and anxiety he would provide context to reign me in. Not just an excellent attorney but an overall great guy. I would absolutely hire Marc and his firm again.“ Jason L.
