Prior to joining Davis Friedman, Simul began her legal career representing multi-million dollar companies through both alternative dispute resolution and, when needed, litigation.
Simul strives to provide her clients with effective and knowledgeable representation. Despite the very emotional nature of family law cases and potential tension between parties, Simul strives to remain professional, practical and resolution-focused through each step of the case. Her attention to each case allows her clients to feel comfortable under her guidance with the goal of reaching an amicable resolution without ever stepping foot inside the courthouse. Simul’s pragmatic method of dealing with her cases has a long lasting impact, even after the case has ended.
Simul is the type of attorney that will work hard to ensure her client’s have quality representation. This includes staying up to date on the ever-changing laws and expanding her legal knowledge in areas that benefit her clients. Family law cases do not always involve solely family law related issues. In many cases, a client may own a business or have an estate comprised of complex financial assets. With this in mind, Simul took it upon herself to enroll in a financial course, take a rigorous exam and become one of only a handful Certified Financial Litigators in Illinois. Her dedication to the practice and commanding presence both inside and out of the courtroom is what makes Simul a standout attorney among her peers.
The legal community has recognized Simul’s dedication to her practice. Simul has been named a Rising Start in the area of Litigation by Super Lawyers Magazine, from 2013 through 2020, a designated reserved for the top 2.5% of all Illinois attorneys under 40. Further, in 2020, Simul was nominated by her peers and selected by the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin as one of their 40 under 40 attorneys to watch.
